The Global Coalition for Local and Regional Production, Innovation and Equitable Access took part in the R&D Funders’ Medical Countermeasures Roundtable, held on 20–21 April in Paris, hosted by Institut Pasteur and co-chaired with the Pasteur Network, the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) and ANRS – Emerging Infectious Diseases.

During the meeting, international partners examined how stronger collaboration can advance epidemic preparedness, innovation and equitable access to vaccines, therapeutics and other health tools.

During the session on defining networks, the Global Coalition presented its model as a distinctive network of networks – an initiative designed to connect countries, regional blocs and leading institutions under a shared framework for cooperation.

The intervention underscored the Coalition’s multi-level architecture, combining political leadership through its Steering Committee with technical guidance from its Advisory Committee, helping align priorities and avoid duplication across the global health ecosystem.

The Global Coalition also highlighted the role of future thematic sub-networks and task forces focused on areas such as financing, regulation and implementation support.

These mechanisms are expected to deepen technical capacity, strengthen delivery and accelerate collective solutions to global health challenges.

The Coalition is also advancing its first global Call for Proposals focused on dengue, seeking high-impact projects to expand access to vaccines, therapeutics, diagnostics and enabling health technologies.

Applications are open until 1 July 2026, with an emphasis on strengthening local production, fostering innovation and supporting vulnerable populations, particularly in developing countries. Find out more at: https://globalcoalitionforlocalproduction.org/projects.
